Guwahati (Assam), 29 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the State Government has set up a new department dedicated to preserving and promoting indigenous and tribal traditions.
He stated that under this department, several new initiatives are being taken to protect and expand the cultural heritage of indigenous and tribal communities. Referring to a video representing the Bodo community, the CM said it justifies the government’s humble step and inspires them to continue working for the welfare of indigenous and tribal people.
