Kochi, 28 August(H.S): Public perception about the CPI(M)-led Kerala Government may be at its lowest ebb due to series of corruption charges, sexual escapades by ministers and party leaders and a total break down in day-to-day governance as well as law and order. But the government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is not leaving any stones unturned in its bid to win the upcoming assembly elections which is likely to take place in February-March 2026.
The fight between the Raj Bhavan and the CPI(M) headquarters over the appointment of committed party cadres as vice-chancellors and faculty members has reached the Supreme Court as the comrades want Pinarayi Vijayan is elevated as the Chancellor of all Universities in the State.
Kick backs and corruption have lost news value as they have become part of the daily ritual of the Kerala Government. Despite the sufferings of the people in the State, the CPI(M)-led government has not done anything to mitigate the pain.
The hospitals in the State have become gateways to the netherworld as there are no doctors or paramedic staff. The medical staff who are working in the hospitals goof up during treatment of patients who call on the doctors. There are no roads worth their name across the State as the frequent rains have made them as good as rivers and streams.
As part of projecting and refurbishing its sagging image, the Kerala Government has hired the services of “bloggers” who travel across the State, shoot videos of hospitals, schools and tourism centers and beam the same through satellite TV channels with the claim that all these were made possible by the superb works done by the Pinarayi Vijayan Government.
The programmes are shot by the Information and Public Relations Department and those who watch the shows would feel that Kerala is the number one place in the world.
Ground reality is that the national highway built by the Union Government in the State is portrayed as the best work done by Pinarayi Vijayan and comrades.
The ration rice, distributed at heavily subsided rates, is the symbol of the Great Leader’s love for the people, claims an anchor person.
“But this is wrong. The Centre allocates rice and other grains to Kerala Government for distribution among people below the poverty line. What Pinarayi Vijayan does is to repack the same and put a seal featuring his picture,” said George Kurian, union minister hailing from the State.
Viewers were in for a shock as one of the bloggers claimed that the Indian astronaut Sourabh Shukla could travel in the International Space Station only because of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Sycophancy knows no limit as the bloggers portray the natural beauty of the State as a gift from Comrade Vijayan.
