Srinagar, August 28 (HS): Amid relentless rainfall and flood-like conditions across Jammu and Kashmir, the Assembly Secretariat has announced the postponement of all scheduled meetings of the House Committees, Financial Committees, and other legislative panels until September 5.

According to officials, the administration is fully engaged in handling the emerging emergency situation triggered by landslides, rising water levels, and disruption of connectivity in several districts. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to prioritize disaster management efforts over legislative business.

Heavy rains over the past week have left many low-lying areas inundated, disrupted road and air traffic, and increased concerns of flash floods and damage to public infrastructure. Rescue teams and disaster response forces have been deployed in the worst-affected regions.
