Anbumani Urges Relief to Workers Affected by US Tariff Hike

Chennai, 28 August (H.S.) : Former Tamil Nadu Health Minister and MP Anbumani Ramadoss has urged the US government to reconsider its decision to hike tariffs on cotton and other textile products from India. Anbumani stated that this move will have a negative impact on the textile industry in Tamil Nadu, affecting the livelihood of thousands of workers.

In his letter, Anbumani pointed out that the US government's decision goes against the India-US trade agreement and will also affect bilateral trade relations between the two countries. He requested the US government to reconsider its decision and provide relief to the Indian textile industry.

Anbumani emphasized that the textile industry in Tamil Nadu is already facing several challenges, and the US tariff hike will further exacerbate its situation. He appealed to the US government to take into account the interests of workers and roll back the decision. The MP's demand comes as a relief measure to protect the workers' interests in the state.
