Floods Disrupt Train Services in Jammu Division; 104 Trains Affected

New Delhi, Aug 27 (HS): Train operations in the Jammu division came to a halt on Wednesday after flash floods and severe erosion in the Chakki river forced Northern Railways to temporarily suspend services, disrupting the schedules of as many as 104 trains.

According to Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, the crisis has led to the cancellation of 44 trains, while 16 services are being operated with curtailed origins from smaller stations. In addition, 28 trains have been short-terminated before reaching their destinations.

Partial operations have been restored on six trains, with seven resuming full services, while three others are being diverted via alternative routes.

Railway authorities have urged passengers to check the updated status of their trains before commencing their journey.
