CDS Unveils Joint Doctrines to Boost Special Forces and Airborne Warfare Synergy

Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 27(HS):

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday released two landmark doctrinal publications — Joint Doctrine for Special Forces Operations and Joint Doctrine for Airborne & Heliborne Operations — during the RAN SAMWAD Tri-Service seminar at the Army War College, Dr Ambedkar Nagar.

The ceremony was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, and Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh.

Formulated under the aegis of the Doctrine Directorate, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, with active participation from all three Services, the new doctrines set forth guiding principles, operational concepts and interoperability frameworks for mission execution.

Applauding the Services for their professionalism and commitment to jointness, General Chauhan said the doctrines would serve as vital reference points for planners, commanders and operators in a rapidly evolving battlespace.

The release marks a major step in strengthening tri-service integration, enhancing operational readiness, and sharpening India’s capability to tackle emerging security challenges with precision.
