New Delhi, August 26(HS): Domestic stock markets will remain closed tomorrow, August 27, on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) have announced a trading holiday across all segments.
According to the BSE trading schedule, no transactions will take place on August 27 in the equity, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLB), currency derivatives, electronic gold receipts (EGR), commodity derivatives, and NDS-RST segments. Similarly, the NSE will also suspend trading in equity and commodity derivatives, corporate bonds, negotiated trade reporting platform, SLB, new debt segments, mutual funds, currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives.
As per the official holiday calendar, after Ganesh Chaturthi, markets will next observe a break on October 2 for Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. Later in October, trading will remain suspended on October 21 for Diwali and Laxmi Pujan, though the traditional Muhurat Trading session will be held that evening. The following day, October 22, markets will also remain shut for Bali Pratipada.
In November, markets will close on November 5 for Guru Nanak Jayanti, and on December 25 for Christmas. Additionally, the currency derivatives segment will remain shut on September 5 for Eid-e-Milad.
