Lucknow, 26 Aug (HS): On Tuesday, Samajwadi Party chief
Akhilesh Yadav met with opposition vice presidential candidate V Sudershan
Reddy at the party's headquarters and stated that the election was a struggle
for justice and constitutional ideals, not simply power. He stated that the
former Supreme Court judge's extensive experience supporting the Constitution,
law, and people's rights qualified him for a high constitutional position. In
today's political climate, what better choice than a judge to lead the fight
for justice? We are convinced that
individuals who respect justice will heed to their inner voice and vote in his
favor, Yadav told reporters. He accused the BJP of attempting to attach
the Vice President's position to a certain ideology, claiming that such a
strategy was detrimental to national interests. The head of the Samajwadi Party
stated that this is about principle, not win or failure. Yadav predicted that
Reddy will win with a historic mandate when MPs cast their ballots,
responding to their inner voice. The Samajwadi Party president thanked Congress
officials, particularly Pramod Tiwari, and the party's state leadership, for
putting forth a candidate who prioritizes constitutional ideals over party
politics. We're utilizing our democratic right to provide an alternative. According to Yadav, the vice president's
office is a high constitutional position that must stay independent of
political affiliation.
