Kushinagar, 26 Aug (HS): Police reported on Tuesday that a
bus transporting pilgrims crashed with a truck on National Highway 28 here,
killing one and injuring 20 others. The event occurred late on Monday night in
the Hata region as the bus was en route to Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan.
According
to authorities, all of the pilgrims were from Bihar's Motihari district. Kundan
Kumar Singh, Circle Officer (Kasya), stated that the incident occurred at the
Jolenia cut when the bus (BR06PB0751), which was on the wrong side of the
highway, crashed head on with the truck. The accident killed Subesh Mohan, a
bus driver from Bihar's Siwan district. Singh stated that his body had been
sent for a post-mortem examination. The injured were sent to the Hata Community
Health Center. According to police, doctors referred six of the injured, who
were in severe condition, to Kushinagar Medical College. Singh stated that the
wounded individuals' relatives had been notified.
