London,August 26(HS):

A U.S. survivor of child sexual abuse has made a direct appeal to Elon Musk, asking him to remove links on his social media platform X that continue to circulate images of her exploitation.

The woman, known as “Zora” to protect her ,, says it is “infuriating” that material documenting her abuse more than 20 years ago is still being traded online. “My body is not a commodity. Every time these images are shared, perpetrators fuel the original abuse,” she told the BBC.

An investigation by the BBC uncovered thousands of child sexual abuse images being marketed through X accounts and linked Telegram channels. The material was funneled through traders allegedly operating out of Jakarta, Indonesia, with sales pitched globally through “VIP packages.”

Despite Musk’s earlier pledge to make the removal of child exploitation material his “top priority,” investigators and digital safety experts argue that criminals can reappear with new accounts almost as quickly as old ones are taken down.

X stated it has “zero tolerance” for child sexual abuse content and said it works closely with U.S.-based NCMEC and law enforcement. Telegram reported it had blocked more than 565,000 abuse-related groups and channels this year alone.

But for Zora, the trauma remains relentless. “If you would act without hesitation to protect your own children,” she said in a message to Musk, “I beg you to do the same for the rest of us. The time to act is now.”
