New Delhi, August 26 (HS): In a big boost for hockey fans, Hockey India on Tuesday announced that entry to all matches of the Hero Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir 2025 will be absolutely free. The much-anticipated tournament will be held from August 29 to September 7 at the newly built Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar, promising to transform the region into the heartbeat of Asian hockey.

Fans can avail free tickets by registering either on www.ticketgenie.in or through the Hockey India mobile app. On successful registration, they will receive a virtual ticket, ensuring smooth and hassle-free access to the venue.

Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey called it a historic moment for Indian hockey. “Hosting the Hero Men’s Asia Cup in Rajgir is a milestone. By keeping entry free, our aim is to take hockey to the masses—so that families, students, and aspiring players can witness world-class action. This isn’t just a tournament; it’s a celebration of the sport, with the people of Bihar at its core,” he stated.

Echoing the sentiment, Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said, “We are thrilled to welcome fans free of charge for all matches. Rajgir has already displayed overwhelming enthusiasm for hockey, and we are confident of massive turnouts. This initiative underlines our commitment to strengthening hockey culture across India.”

The competition will feature Asia’s top eight teams—India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei. Significantly, the continental championship also serves as the qualifier for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, heightening the stakes for every fixture.

Placed in Pool A, the Indian team opens its campaign against China on August 29, takes on Japan on August 31, and faces Kazakhstan on September 1 in its last group-stage outing.

With free access for fans and India chasing glory on home soil, the Rajgir edition of the Men’s Asia Cup Hockey is poised to be a landmark sporting spectacle.
