Pratapgarh, 26 Aug (HS): In the Hathigwan police station area of Pratapgarh district
of Uttar Pradesh, on Monday late night, a son killed his father by hitting him
with a shovel while he was sleeping inside the house. On Tuesday morning, the
police, who got information about the incident, have taken the accused son into
custody and started investigating the case.
Inspector Nandlal Singh said that Vinod
Kumar Mishra (50), a resident of Batua village of Hathigwan police station
area, was sleeping on a cot in the verandah of the house after having dinner on
Monday night. At around 2 o'clock in the night, his younger son Siddharth Mishra
injured his father by hitting him with a shovel.
With the help of the police,
the injured Vinod was taken to CHC Kunda at four o'clock, where doctors
declared him dead. On receiving information about the incident, Additional
Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjay Rai reached the spot with the force and
started investigating the incident.
The inspector said that the accused has
been taken into custody. He was angry with his father over some issue. That is
why he committed the crime. Further action is being taken by sending the body
for postmortem.
