New Delhi ,August 25(HS): In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police on Sunday arrested two alleged sharpshooters of the Neeraj Faridpuria–Himanshu Bhau gang for their role in the recent firing outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram residence.
The accused — Gaurav Singh alias Nikka (22), a school dropout from Faridabad, and Aditya Tiwari (19), a BCA student from Bihar’s Kaimur district — were caught during a dramatic operation near Khera Canal in Shahbad Dairy, Rohini. Police said they were regrouping for another strike in Delhi when the trap was laid.
“One of them even reached for his pistol to fire at our team, but both were swiftly overpowered,” said Amit Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell). Officers seized a country-made pistol, four live cartridges, and a mobile phone from the duo.
Investigators revealed that the arrested men were acting on the orders of jailed gangster Neeraj Faridpuria and his close aide Himanshu Bhau. The duo had arranged weapons, money, and logistics for the August 17 shooting at Yadav’s Gurugram Sector 56 residence, where two attackers opened fire before fleeing. Shortly after, the Bhau gang claimed responsibility in a social media post.
In their disclosures, the shooters admitted they had initially tried to escape toward the Indo-Nepal border but were summoned back for a fresh assignment in the capital. While Gaurav has a past vandalism case in Rajasthan, Aditya has no prior criminal record, officials noted.
A fresh FIR under the Arms Act has been registered at the Special Cell Police Station. Police are now hunting other gang members and financiers believed to be involved in the broader conspiracy.
Investigation is ongoing.
