Srinagar, 25 August (H.S.): Several women were injured today when the ceiling of a residential house collapsed during a religious gathering in Pohru area of Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials said the incident took place when a slab of the upper floor of the house, where a Deeni Ijtima (religious congregation) was underway, suddenly caved in. The collapse caused panic among the participants, leaving multiple women with injuries.

Medical Superintendent of GMC Handwara, Dr. Aijaz, said all the injured were shifted to the hospital. “All the injuries are minor, and there is no need to panic,” he said.
Police and local residents later reached the spot to assist in rescue and evacuation efforts.
