Jammu, 25 August (H.S.): The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, today visited Kathua District to review the traffic restoration on the National Highway disrupted due to the collapse of the Logate Morh Bridge.
A statement said that senior officers, including SSP Kathua, Shobit Saxena, SSP Traffic Rural, Girdhari Lal, and Commandant IRP 18th Battalion accompanied Sharma during the inspection, where alternative routes were identified to ensure smooth traffic movement.
Later, it said, a high-level coordination meeting was held at DPL Kathua, with NHAI officials, DC Kathua, CRPF, Traffic Police, SDRF, and other stakeholders.
The meeting focussed on streamlining traffic on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway and ensuring smooth passage for tourists, patients, ambulances, and essential services, it said.
The officers were also directed to activate control rooms and field staff for better coordination and public facilitation, added the statement.
