Guwahati, 25 August (HS): Satish Kumar, Chairman Railway Board (CRB) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) visited the newly constructed 51.38 km-long Bairabi-Sairang New Line Railway Project on August 24, a vital link that will connect Mizoram’s capital Aizawl with the national railway network for the first time.

He was accompanied by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of NF Railway, Arun Kumar Chaudhary, General Manager (Construction), and other senior railway and construction officials.

NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said the visit holds immense importance as the project is a landmark step in strengthening rail connectivity in the Northeast. During the inspection, Satish Kumar reviewed key infrastructure including bridges, tunnels, and stations along the route.

The Northeast Frontier Railway has overcome major geographical and engineering challenges to extend the railway network to Mizoram, marking significant progress toward improved regional connectivity.
