Sambhal, 25 Aug (HS): A statue of Lord Parshuram was set
at the Shankar Inter College crossing here on Monday, accompanied by the
chanting of Vedic hymns, according to members of the organizing committee. On
August 7, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a foundationstonefor
a statue in Bahjoi.
During the event, shouts glorifying Lord Parshuram were echoed throughout the
border.
Parshuram, known as the guru of Lord Kalki, an avatar of Vishnu, is respected
in the region, and the placement of his monument is viewed as a step toward
Sambhal's cultural resurgence.
Juna Akhara's international general secretary Karnpuri Maharaj, BJP's western
UP vice-president Rajesh Singhal, Vishva Hindu Parishad district president
Anant Agrawal, and hundreds of devotees all attended the occasion. According to
Rajkumar Gupta, who was directly connected with the installation, the
four-foot-tall figure is made of brass, weighs around 150 kilos, and cost more
than Rs 3 lakh to build. Acharya Pandit
Shobhit Shastri highlighted Sambhal's ancient and mythical significance,
stating that it is the city of Lord Kalki, and Lord Parshuram is considered as
Kalki's guru. Karnpuri Maharaj stated that in the future, Sambhal's 84
pilgrimage destinations will be revitalized.
