Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his warm greetings to the nation and the global Sikh community on the sacred occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, emphasizing the eternal relevance of the holy scripture’s teachings in guiding humanity towards harmony, wisdom, and service.
In a heartfelt message, the Prime Minister underlined that the divinely inspired verses of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji have, for centuries, served as a fountain of moral and spiritual strength for people around the world. He said the scripture’s timeless call for compassion, humility, and selfless service continues to illuminate lives and strengthen bonds of unity across diverse communities.
“The timeless teachings of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji remind us of the values of compassion, humility and service. These values inspire humanity to strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony. May we always walk the path of wisdom shown by the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and strive to build a better planet,” Shri Modi said in a message shared on social media platform X.
Parkash Purab marks the revered occasion of the manifestation of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the eternal Sikh Guru, which Sikhs and devotees across the globe commemorate with deep devotion and reverence. Gurudwaras and Sikh households hold kirtans, recitals, and prayers on this occasion, reaffirming the guiding message of universal brotherhood and equality enshrined in the holy scripture.
By invoking the essence of these teachings, the Prime Minister sought to encourage citizens to imbibe values that transcend faith and region, offering a common moral compass for a just and inclusive society.
