(HS): Participation of women in the process of development is important to

achieve the goal of the developed nation and Maharashtra by 2047, said Chief

Minister Devendra Fadnavis. A policy decision to improve allround development

of women will be taken by the government, he added.

Fadnavis was

talking during the two-day seminar ‘Shakti Samwad’, organised jointly by the

National Women’s Commission and Maharashtra State Women’s Commission in Mumbai.

Assembly Speaker Ram Sinde, Legislative Council Chairman Rahul Narvekar, Deupty

Chairperson Dr Neelam Gorhe, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare,

Cooperatives Minister Balasaheb Patil, Minister of State for Women and Child

Development Meghna Sakore-Bopardikar, Minister of State Dr Pankaj Bhoyar,

National Women’s Commission Chief Vijaya Rahatkar, State Women's Commission

Chief Rupali Chakankar, and others were present.

The government is committed to the social,

economic, and all-round development of women. Various issues relating to women’s

problems and their possible solutions will be discussed during the seminar, he

said. Equality as envisaged by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, irrespective of caste,

religion, gender, and equal opportunity, is important for realising the dream of developed nation. Women should act to bring about economic changes.

Various schemes

have been launched to empower girls and women. The schemes offer opportunities

to women to move ahead in various fields. The society should work to ensure the safety of women and eliminate perversion.

Artificial

Intelligence technology has been offered to improve the capability to explore new

fields and improve the capability to work. While using AI, care should be taken to avoid its misuse. Women’s Commission has a major role in suggesting methods to control

atrocities against women, Fadnavis said..
