Bhubaneswar, 22 August (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) emergence as the single largest party in Odisha is not accidental but the result of the people’s trust and the tireless dedication and hard work of its workers. This was stated by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday during the launch of the English book “Voices and Votes: Odisha Electoral Renaissance of 2024” authored by noted writers and professors Dr. Netaji Abhinandan and Preeti Bubna.
Addressing the event, Pradhan congratulated the authors and publishers for presenting a detailed analytical work on Odisha’s contemporary political landscape. He emphasized that documenting history and present circumstances in book form makes it easier to chart the path for the future.
He further mentioned that he had recently attended the release of another book titled “Election 2024 – The Bitter Truth of Odisha Politics” and welcomed such analytical literature as valuable tools to understand the state’s political dynamics. Pradhan expressed hope that “Voices and Votes” would be appreciated across all sections of society and showed interest in having the book translated and published in Odia.
Highlighting BJP’s political journey both in Odisha and at the national level, the Minister spoke about the party’s growth from a small cadre base to a large workforce, its success in the 2017 Panchayat elections, its role as the opposition, and ultimately forming a single-party government in the recent elections. He elaborated on these key milestones in detail.
Pradhan reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party is not just an organization but a powerful ideology. He stressed that BJP is not an accidental party but has grown to become the world’s largest political party through the sacrifice and commitment of thousands of workers. With the blessings of the people, it has for the first time formed a single-party government in Odisha.
