Jalpaiguri, 22 August (H.S.) A man killed his wife and took out her heart and kept roaming around the area with the blood-stained heart in his hand on Friday morning at Bangkandi village under Maynaguri police station of Jalpaiguri district. Seeing the scene, panic spread in the entire village. The dead woman has been identified as Deepali Rai.

According to local people, there was a dispute going on between the husband and wife for a long time. On Friday morning, the dispute suddenly escalated so much that Deepali's husband Ramesh Rai attacked her. He killed Deepali and took out her heart.

On information, Maynaguri police reached the spot and took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. The accused is currently absconding. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
