Hooghly, 22 August (H.S.) Smoke suddenly started coming out from the Up Howrah-Bandel local train On Friday morning, causing panic among the passengers. The incident occured immediately after the train left Sheorafully station. Amidst the chaos, the train stood there for about 45 minutes.
According to local sources and police, 37825 Up Howrah-Bandel local left Sheorafully station at around 11 am. After covering a short distance, the train suddenly stopped and black smoke started coming out from under it. A rumour spread among the passengers that the train had caught fire.
Later, the railway technical team investigated and clarified that smoke was coming out due to the brake-shoe suddenly getting stuck. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Railway Police and the Railway technical team reached the spot and carried out repair work. After that the train was again sent towards Bandel.
After nearly three-quarters of an hour of struggle, the train was able to proceed normally towards its destination. Meanwhile, the passengers had to face a lot of trouble.
