Guwahati (Assam), 22 August (HS): The Golden Jubilee of Shree Ganesh Janmotsav will be celebrated with grandeur at Shree Ganesh Mandir Prangan and Shree Ganesh Uddyan in Dispur on August 26 and 27. The event, organized by Shree Ganesh Mandir Trust, will feature special programs this year with the theme inspired by Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja.

Addressing a press briefing at Dispur Press Club, organizing committee president Ashok Goel informed that the celebration will begin on August 26 with a felicitation program. A Souvenir will be released on the occasion and both founding and present members of the committee will be honoured for their contribution. The day will also feature “Rowmari Dhulia Bhawna” by local folk artists, followed by a mythological drama performed by a renowned Delhi-based theatre group in the evening.

On August 27, the traditional rituals will take place, including Pujan at 10:30 am, Maha Aarti at 12:15 pm, and Mahabhog with 51 Sawamani offerings by devotees. In the evening, renowned artist Sri Subhash Nath will perform Nagara Naam, one of the highlights of the event.

Committee secretary Anupam Agarwalla stated that devotees are eagerly awaiting the Golden Jubilee celebration, with arrangements including air conditioning inside the Mandir premises, elaborate lighting decorations from Ganeshguri to Last Gate circle and distribution of khichdi and kheer as prasad. Treasurer Ajay Singhal added that a health desk will also be set up by Tulip Mediworld Hospital to meet any emergency needs.

Organizers have also requested devotees to light lamps, diyas, and incense sticks at the Ganesh Udyan pandal instead of inside the temple to ensure smooth darshan within the Mandir.

The committee has invited the public to join the two-day celebration, seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh, and pray for the well-being of society.---------
