Fourth foundation day celebration of MGUG


Gorakhpur, 22 Aug (HS): The fourth foundation day celebration of

Mahayogi Gorakhnath University Gorakhpur (MGUG) and the inauguration of a

seven-day lecture series in the holy memory of Yugpurush Brahmlin Mahant

Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and Rashtrasant Brahmlin Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj

took place on Friday. The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, Vice

Chancellor of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath State Ayush University, Prof. K.

Ramachandra Reddy, in his address said that MGUG is setting new standards in

the field of Ayurveda, nursing, paramedical and modern medicine not only in

eastern Uttar Pradesh but in the entire nation. The society will always be

indebted to the way the sages of Nath sect awakened the spirit of education in

eastern Uttar Pradesh and crushed the various evils prevalent in the society

and initiated social harmony and equal respect for all religions.

Prof. Reddy said that Gorakshapeeth is a major centre of Nath

sect. The sages of Nath sect have initiated the unbroken work of social

upliftment and social harmony by going to various sections of the society along

with yoga and Ayurveda. In the same sequence, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University is

known not only in eastern Uttar Pradesh for its participation in various

disciplines of medicine but has also established its place on the world stage

in such a short time. He said that Nath sect's emphasis on yoga and Ayurveda is

even more relevant in today's time, because this tradition is very helpful in

treating the diseases arising from modern lifestyle, the proof of which we have

seen in the Corona epidemic. He said that organizing the foundation day

celebration of the university energizes the university family and gives it new

vigor. Such events make us loyal to our duties and provide inspiration for

future plans and challenges.

Foundation Day is an opportunity to assess usefulness and plan

future action: Dr. Anurag - Dr. Anurag Shrivastava, Principal of Shri

Gorakhnath Medical College Hospital and Research Center, MGUG, who was

presiding over the inaugural ceremony, said that organizing Foundation Day and

Founder Memorial Lecture series is not only a celebration for us, but also an

opportunity to assess our usefulness and formulate future action plan. He said

that in the last four years, the university has made continuous progress in

quality education and research work. In the coming time, our goal is to provide

global level education to the students and fulfill the objectives of the

university by providing health services to the deprived sections of the

society.

The function was inaugurated with the presentation of Saraswati

Vandana, Kulgeet and Swagatgeet by the students of the university. The welcome

address was given by the Principal of Ayurveda College, Dr. Giridhar Vedantam,

while the outline of the various activities to be held for seven days on the

occasion of Foundation Day and Founder Memorial Lecture series was presented by

the program coordinator Prof. Shashikant Singh. On this occasion, the Dean of

the Agriculture Faculty of the University, Dr. Vimal Dubey, Vice Principal of

Ayurveda College, Dr. Sumit, along with the Deans of various faculties, Heads

of Departments, Professors and a large number of students were present.
