UP woman dies under suspicious circumstances, maternal family alleges dowry killing


Amethi, 22 Aug (HS): In Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh, the

body of a married woman was found hanging from a noose inside the house under

suspicious circumstances. The woman's parents, who reached the spot after

getting the information, told cops that their daughter was killed and hanged

for dowry. The police, who reached the spot after getting the information, are

engaged in investigation and necessary legal action.

According to the complaint given by the father of the deceased,

the deceased Nisha was married to Rajkumar Nishad in 2019 in village Sabha

Thauri under Bhale Sultan police station area. The father of the deceased told

that her in-laws used to constantly harass Nisha for dowry. On 21 August 2024,

her son-in-law beat up the mother and daughter and threw them out of the house.

On which an application was given in Bhale Sultan police station, after the

intervention of the police station in-charge, both the parties reached a

settlement and were sent to their in-laws' house. After this, he was constantly

demanding a four-wheeler and a refrigerator, whereas he was given a bike in

marriage, with which he was not satisfied. On Thursday, the father received

information that his daughter had committed suicide by hanging herself. The

father, who reached the daughter's in-laws' house, alleged that the mother-in-law

Phoolkala and husband Rajkumar have tied and hung his daughter by killing her

for dowry. Appropriate action should be taken on this matter.

Regarding the incident, Bhale Sultan SHO Tanuj Pal said that as

soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the

spot and after taking down the body from the noose, the Panchayatnama was

filled and the process of sending it for postmortem is being done. On the other

hand, on the basis of the complaint given by the father of the deceased Nisha,

the police is investigating and taking necessary legal action.
