Jammu, 22 August (H.S.): Over 50 prominent transporters, mostly associated with the Tour and Travel Association Jammu, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
The joining programme took place in the presence of Sat Sharma, president J&K BJP, who warmly welcomed the new entrants into the party fold.
The joining was facilitated by Ashutosh Gupta, convenor of Transport Cell, J&K BJP, while the programme was organized under the supervision of Ved Sharma, BJP All Cells in charge.
BJP vice-presidents, Rajiv Charak and Rekha Mahajan, general secretaries, Sanjeeta Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, BJP OBC Morcha president, Brahamjyot, and BJYM president, Arun Prabhat were also present on the occasion to extend their greetings.
Prominent transporters and members of the Tour and Travel Association including Ravi Baru, Narendra Gupta, Ashish Baru, Vinod Verma, Suraj Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Deepu, Lucky, Mohd Rafiq, Gulshan and many others joined the party with full faith in its policies and leadership.
Welcoming the new members, Sat Sharma said that the joining of such a large number of transporters into BJP is a testimony to the growing trust of every section of society in the party. He said that the transport sector plays a vital role in boosting tourism and economy, especially in a region like Jammu & Kashmir. He said that their decision to join BJP reflects their belief that only BJP can ensure progressive policies, development, and prosperity for all. “We assure them of full support in addressing their concerns and in strengthening this crucial sector’’, he added.
Ved Sharma said that this development will further strengthen BJP’s outreach among transport associations. He congratulated Ashutosh and the association members for their recent election win and urged them to continue expanding the party’s base in this sector.
Ashutosh Gupta expressed gratitude to the transport fraternity for their overwhelming support, stating that the Tour and Travel Association has shown exemplary trust in BJP. He showed commitment to take forward the party’s ideology and ensure that the transport community feels represented.
On the occasion, Sat Sharma along with senior leaders also felicitated Ashutosh Gupta and the members of the Tour and Travel Association for their victory in the prestigious association election.
