Varanasi, 22 Aug (HS): In Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh, in
a dispute over parking of a vehicle in Matri Chaya Apartment of Brij Enclave
Extension Kedar Colony located in Sundarpur of Bhelupur police station area,
some rowdy youths killed a teacher by hitting him with bricks. Due to the
incident, there was an atmosphere of terror in the apartment for a long time.
On receiving information about the incident, ACP Bhelupur Gaurav Kumar along
with the police also reached the spot and inspected. The incident happened late
Thursday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, Dr. Praveen Jha (46), a teacher
living in Matri Chaya Apartment, was a teacher in a private college located in
Bhagwanpur Lanka. Late in the evening, Dr. Praveen came to the apartment in his
car. The teacher was parking his car in the parking lot built in the basement
of the apartment. Meanwhile, a young man named Adarsh, who also lives in the
apartment, reached there with his two friends and started arguing with the
teacher about car parking. It is alleged that during this time Adarsh and his
friends attacked teacher Praveen's head with rods and bricks. Praveen fell down
screaming, seeing this the accused ran away. Hearing the noise and screams, the
guard reached there and after seeing Praveen's condition, informed his family
about it. The family hurriedly took the teacher to a private hospital, from
where he was referred to BHU Trauma Center. Teacher Praveen was declared dead
by the doctors in the Trauma Center. DCP Crime Sarvanan T told journalists that
a case is being registered on the complaint of the victim's family. The accused
have been arrested. At the same time, there was a discussion in the area that
one of the attackers is also the son of the Dean of the Agriculture Department
of Patna University. Bhelupur police conducted checking campaigns in various
areas of the city and raided to arrest the three attackers. In this case, the
police took the three attackers into custody late at night. After the incident,
there is uproar among the family members of the deceased teacher.
