Kushinagar, 22 Aug (HS): Passengers will now be able to fly to

Lucknow, Prayagraj and Varanasi from Kushinagar International Airport. Assam's

aviation company Jetwings has received the license to fly under (Regional

Connectivity Scheme) RCS. The flight timetable will be announced in the winter

schedule. The company has purchased an 80-seater Bombardier aircraft for the

flight service. Airport Director Pranavesh Rai said that Jetwings has received

the license. The timetable is expected to come in the winter schedule. Very

soon the airport will become fully functional. There will be flights to the

country as well as to big cities. Under the RCS scheme, the Airport Authority

of India had invited tenders for this newly created route. Aviation Company

Indigo had also participated in the tender. Spice Jet was successful in winning

the tender held on July 11. The hope of the airport being closed for two years

becoming bustling again in the winter season has increased. The Airport

Authority has contacted big companies like Indigo, Akasa to start flight

services to big cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
