Kushinagar, 22 Aug (HS): Passengers will now be able to fly to
Lucknow, Prayagraj and Varanasi from Kushinagar International Airport. Assam's
aviation company Jetwings has received the license to fly under (Regional
Connectivity Scheme) RCS. The flight timetable will be announced in the winter
schedule. The company has purchased an 80-seater Bombardier aircraft for the
flight service. Airport Director Pranavesh Rai said that Jetwings has received
the license. The timetable is expected to come in the winter schedule. Very
soon the airport will become fully functional. There will be flights to the
country as well as to big cities. Under the RCS scheme, the Airport Authority
of India had invited tenders for this newly created route. Aviation Company
Indigo had also participated in the tender. Spice Jet was successful in winning
the tender held on July 11. The hope of the airport being closed for two years
becoming bustling again in the winter season has increased. The Airport
Authority has contacted big companies like Indigo, Akasa to start flight
services to big cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
