Varanasi, 22 Aug (HS): To ensure availability of fertilizers to

farmers at the prescribed rate in Varanasi, Joint Director of Agriculture

Department (Varanasi Division) Shailendra Kumar, DDA Amit Jaiswal, DAO Sangam

Singh and team members conducted intensive inspection of various committees and

private fertilizer sellers' shops on Friday. Joint Director of Agriculture

(Varanasi Division) Shailendra Kumar talked to the farmers present on the spot.

During the conversation with the farmers, he took complete information about

getting fertilizers at the prescribed rate. Joint Director of Agriculture directed

all fertilizer sellers to distribute fertilizers to farmers through POS machine

according to their land holdings. Also, it is mandatory to mention the mobile

number of farmers in the distribution register, so that no discrepancy can be

found on matching. Immediate action will be taken if any kind of discrepancy is

detected.

Meanwhile, during the inspection of Mirzapur District

Agriculture Officer Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Yadav on Thursday, M/s Singh Fertilizer

Agency Sugapakh Patehra and M/s Adarsh ​​Krishi Seva Kendra Drammanganj Halia

were found guilty of overrating and black marketing of fertilizers. FIR has

been registered against both under Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and Essential

Commodities Act 1955.

For transparency, the Agriculture Department put employees on

duty at several shops and distributed urea to farmers at the rate fixed by the

government. At the same time, the Deputy Agriculture Director sealed both the

Agri Junction One Stop Shop and Maurya Khad Bhandar located at Belhara Mod late

in the evening after finding irregularities. According to officials, there is

no shortage of fertilizers in the district. Currently, 10069 metric tons of

urea, 3607 metric tons of DAP, 180 metric tons of MOP, 1671 metric tons of NPK

and 920 metric tons of SSP are available.
