Wild Elephant Attack Leaves One Injured in Rangjuli


Goalpara (Assam), 21 August (HS): A man was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack in Rangjuli on Thursday.

The injured has been identified as 40-year-old Manjit Swargiyari of Thakuria Para, Rangjuli. The elephant, which had earlier been tranquilized and kept in Budhabudhi protected forest for treatment, reportedly broke through the fencing this morning and strayed out of the jungle.

On its way, the elephant attacked Swargiyari in Thakuria Para, leaving him with severe chest injuries. He was first rushed to Rangjuli Hospital and later referred to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment, where he is currently undergoing care.
