New Delhi, Aug 21(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended warm birthday wishes to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, praising his leadership for its strong focus on youth empowerment and pro-people policies.
In a heartfelt message, the Prime Minister said, “Warm birthday wishes to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu Ji. He has made a mark with his pro-people governance and focus on youth development. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Pema Khandu, a three-time Chief Minister, assumed office in July 2016 and has since emerged as one of the prominent young leaders in the Northeast. Known for his progressive vision, Khandu has emphasized infrastructure connectivity, IT-driven governance, entrepreneurship opportunities for youth, and sustainable development in the strategically significant border state.
Under his stewardship, Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed initiatives in digital governance, renewable energy, and tourism promotion, alongside special focus on education and skill-building programs for young people. His government has also worked on bolstering healthcare systems and strengthening rural livelihoods, in line with the state’s unique socio-cultural fabric.
Prime Minister Modi’s greeting reflects the Centre’s appreciation of Khandu’s leadership in driving growth, stability, and inclusivity in Arunachal Pradesh, a state that plays a crucial role in India’s Act East Policy and strategic frontier development.
