New Delhi, August 21(HS): Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Thursday hailed the extraordinary achievements of “Lakhpati Didis” (women entrepreneurs under rural initiatives), along with major developments in rural roads and housing, as milestones that have brought “positive change to millions of lives.”

Addressing a Mega Staff Resolution Conference at Pusa, Chouhan urged officials to see every day as an opportunity to contribute to nation-building.

“Our work is for building the nation. Each of us must work with the spirit that in creating an Atmanirbhar Bharat, one brick must also be mine,” he emphasized.

Highlighting the role of the Agriculture Department, ICAR, and the Ministry of Rural Development, Chouhan pointed out that India’s food reserves are overflowing and that the nation will move forward with “firm determination to tackle every challenge in partnership with farmers and state governments.”

Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day message—“Government should be visible not in files, but in people’s lives”—the minister said strict measures would ensure farmers are not cheated anymore with spurious seeds, fertilizers, or pesticides.

“Dishonest players will not be spared,” he warned.

Chouhan further added that all targets set by the Prime Minister would be achieved collectively. Echoing Modi’s call to “Go Swadeshi,” he administered a pledge to agriculture and rural development officials to adopt indigenous products in their daily lives.

The conference saw participation of employees and officers from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Ministry of Rural Development in large numbers.
