Govt Orders Strict Compliance with Posting Instructions; Salary Stoppage for Defaulters

Bhubaneswar, 21 August (H.S.): The Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment has issued a strong directive mandating all promoted and transferred officers to report to their newly assigned places of posting without delay. The move comes amid growing concerns over non-compliance with government orders, which is reportedly affecting administrative efficiency at the grassroots level.

In a notification issued by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, it has been clearly stated that no government posting or transfer order shall be kept in abeyance under any circumstances. Officers who fail to join their new postings by August 31, 2025—in cases where transfer orders were issued earlier—will face disciplinary action.

Importantly, the salary of such non-compliant officers will be withheld by the establishments from which they have been transferred. The department has also warned that any attempts to exert undue or extraneous influence to alter or modify posting orders will be dealt with strictly.

The notification directs all Heads of Directorates, Officials, and Field Establishments to closely monitor the implementation of these orders and promptly report any instances of non-joining.
