New Delhi, August 21 (HS): Indian astronaut and Axiom-4 mission crew member Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on Thursday said that “from space, India indeed looks the most beautiful,” as he shared his awe-inspiring experiences upon returning from orbit.
Addressing a press conference at the National Media Centre in New Delhi, Shukla recounted his journey from the launch of the Axiom-4 mission to its successful completion. The event was attended by Union Minister of Science & Technology and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, along with senior ISRO officials.
Shukla described his first moments onboard the launch vehicle:
“No matter how much training you undergo, the instant you sit inside a rocket and the engines roar to life, the feeling is beyond words. The experience was truly incredible—thrilling and surreal.”
He expressed deep gratitude to the Government of India, ISRO scientists, and fellow citizens who made the mission possible.
Highlighting the broader importance of the mission, Shukla observed:
“This flight stands as a testament to India’s scientific capability and the spirit of global space collaboration. Every moment spent in space not only reflected technological excellence but also opened new doors of possibility for humanity’s future.”
