Bishwanath (Assam), 21 August (HS): The Bishwanath district administration has issued eviction notices to 433 families in Bihali for alleged illegal occupation of government land at Baghamari Gocharania Pathar.

Officials said the encroachers have been directed to vacate approximately 265 bighas, 3 kathas, and 15 lechas of land within 15 days. Following the announcement, chaos and tension prevailed in the area as families expressed concern over their displacement.

The administration is preparing for a large-scale eviction drive once the notice period ends.
