Kolkata, 21 August (H.S.). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bengal on Friday, where he will attend multiple events, including a public rally and the inauguration of a metro project. However, once again, senior Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has not been invited to the Prime Minister’s programs.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Ghosh clarified that he has not received any invitation to participate in the official events. When asked whether he would be present at Modi’s programs, he responded cautiously: “I may go, I may not. Where I will go is for the party to decide, not me. If it is a party program, the party will take the decision. But for government events, an invitation is necessary, and I have not been invited.” He further added that he now considers himself an ordinary party worker and fulfills whatever responsibilities are assigned to him.

This is not the first time Ghosh has been excluded from official programs. Recently, his absence has been notable on several occasions, particularly after his marriage, which, according to observers, has widened his distance from the party. Adding to speculation, Ghosh had attended the inauguration of the Jagannath Temple in Digha earlier this year on the invitation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, fueling rumors of his possible exit from the BJP. However, Ghosh himself dismissed such speculations.

When Shamik Bhattacharya was appointed the state BJP president, Ghosh was also not invited to the formal announcement program. Later, Bhattacharya invited him to the party office in a bid to display unity.
