Azamgarh, 21 Aug (HS): On Thursday,

in Achlipur village of Atraulia police station area of ​​the district, due to a

family dispute, the elder son brutally murdered his own mother. After the

incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the village. Achlipur village

resident Vijay Kanti Pandey (55), wife of late Gopal Pandey, was living with

her younger son Praveen Pandey and daughter-in-law Sweta. On Thursday at around

11 am, her elder son Pranav Pandey (35) reached home and started arguing with

his mother over something. As the dispute escalated, he got angry and attacked

her with a sharp weapon, due to which Vijay Kanti was seriously injured.

Hearing the screams, family members and neighbors reached the spot and

immediately took the injured woman to 100 bed hospital in Atraulia, but the

doctors declared her dead. On receiving the information, Area Officer Ajay

Pratap Singh, Police Station Head Amit Kumar Mishra and police force reached

the spot. The police sent the body for post-mortem and started investigating

the incident.

The deceased's husband Gopal Pandey

died of cancer about ten years ago. He has two sons Pranav (35) and Praveen

(30) and a daughter Anshika, all three are married. Younger son Praveen Pandey

has filed a complaint with the police and accused his elder brother Pranav

Pandey of murder. At present, the accused is absconding and the police are

conducting raids in search of him.
