Purulia, 21 August (H.S.) The bodies of a woman and a man were found hanging from a banyan tree on Thursday morning in Raghunathpur police station area of Purulia district.
According to police sources, the deceased have been identified as Prashant Chatterjee (40) and housewife Maina Dhiwar (30). Both were residents of Biltora village under Raghunathpur police station.
According to locals, both were missing since Wednesday. On Thursday, the bodies of both were found hanging from a banyan tree near Panchpahari in Raghunathpur. Police reached the spot on information. Both were taken to Raghunathpur Super Specialty Hospital, where doctors on duty declared them dead.
On the other hand, the families of both do not want to comment on the matter. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Both the bodies have been sent to Purulia for postmortem to know the actual cause of death.
