Meerut, 21 Aug (HS): On Thursday afternoon, Meerut's Anti
Corruption Team arrested the Kalchina Police Outpost Incharge of Bhojpur Police
Station red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000. As soon as Inspector
Rajeev Kumar took Rs. 50,000 from the victim and kept it with himself, the Anti
Corruption Team caught him. After this, the team brought him to the police
station and is taking legal action.
The victim is a resident of Kalchina village of Bhojpur police
station area. Inamul told the media that it was a land matter. A case was going
on with the police. Emmanuel told that Inspector Rajiv Kumar had demanded a
bribe of Rs 75,000 to remove his name from the case and the matter was settled
for Rs 50,000. Emmanuel told that even before this he had given a bribe of Rs
20,000 and Rs 50,000 to two inspectors. But his work was not done. He thought
that how long he will pay money now. So he decided to get Inspector Rajiv Kumar
arrested and on August 18, he went to Meerut and filed a complaint with Anti
Corruption. Today at around 2:00 pm he reached the inspector's room and handed
over Rs 50,000 to him. Then the people of Anti Corruption present on the spot
caught the inspector.
