Morigaon (Assam), 20 August (HS): Tension prevailed in Morigaon after a case of cattle theft came to light.
On Tuesday night, CCTV footage had identified a thief involved in the incident. Late last night, villagers apprehended the accused, identified as Atikul Islam. During interrogation, Atikul confessed that two other locals were also involved in the crime.
Police rushed to the spot, brought the situation under control and took the accused into custody. Further investigation is underway.
