TN Governor RN Ravi Leaves for Sudden 4-Day Trip to New Delhi

Chennai, 20 August (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has embarked on a sudden four-day trip to New Delhi, sparking speculation about the purpose of his visit. Ravi departed from Chennai on Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm on an Air India flight, accompanied by his secretary, aide, and security officer. He is scheduled to return to Chennai on August 23 ,Saturday, at 4:30 pm.

The visit comes amid ongoing tensions between the Governor and the state government, particularly after the DMK and its allies boycotted Ravi's customary 'At Home' reception at Raj Bhavan on Independence Day. Ravi's trip to Delhi has fueled speculation that he may meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior ministers to discuss the current state of affairs in Tamil Nadu.

According to Raj Bhavan sources, Ravi will attend a university event during his stay in the national capital. However, given the history of Ravi's interactions with the state government, the visit is likely to draw significant attention. Notably, Ravi had a series of run-ins with the elected Government of Tamil Nadu, including storming out of the State Assembly before the playing of the national anthem.

It remains to be seen what Ravi discusses during his meetings in Delhi, but his visit is expected to have implications for the state's politics. The Governor's interactions with Union Ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, could potentially shape the future course of events in Tamil Nadu.
