Bhubaneswar, 20 August (H.S.): In a significant move aimed at enhancing the grassroots implementation of agricultural schemes, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment, Government of Odisha, has directed its senior officials to undertake regular field visits across districts. The initiative, led by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, is designed to eliminate on-ground challenges and reinforce the delivery of farmer-centric programs.
According to the official notification issued today, key departmental officials including the Director, Additional Director, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, and officers overseeing various schemes will conduct periodic visits to agricultural fields in different districts and blocks. These visits aim to closely monitor the execution of government schemes, engage directly with farmers, and assess the real-time situation at the grassroots level.
Officials have been instructed to submit concise visit reports to the Principal Secretary within one week of each field tour, highlighting observations, implementation status, and challenges encountered.
To ensure comprehensive outreach, Heads of Directorates have been tasked with preparing a monthly tour calendar. The schedule will prioritize coverage of aspirational blocks and vulnerable areas, thereby ensuring equitable attention to regions that require focused support.
