Lakhimpur (Assam), 20 August (HS): A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday evening at Rangkap Chapori village under Namni CC Tongani Gaon Panchayat in the Silapathar police station area. The blaze, which started due to unknown reasons, completely destroyed the house of villager Badinath Doloi.
In the incident, three houses belonging to the affected family were reduced to ashes, along with household items, important documents and furniture. The loss of property is estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees.
The fire created panic and chaos in the entire village. Demanding immediate government aid and financial assistance for the victim’s family, the Mising Autonomous Council and regional organizations TMPK, MMK, and TMMK Silapathar district and regional committee have appealed to the authorities.
