New Delhi, August 20(HS): The wave of bomb threats against schools in the national capital shows no signs of abating. On Wednesday morning, four schools in Delhi, including one in Dwarka, received threatening emails warning of bombs planted on their premises, triggering swift and extensive security responses.
The first alert came at 7:40 a.m. when Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (SKV) in Malviya Nagar received the threat. Shortly thereafter, at 7:42 a.m., Andhra School in Prasad Nagar was similarly targeted. Acting quickly, local police, bomb disposal squads, and fire department personnel mobilized to conduct immediate and thorough search operations at both sites.
While investigations into these initial threats were ongoing, a third bomb threat was reported at 8:20 a.m. at Rahul Model Public School in Dwarka, followed by a fourth alert at 8:54 a.m. targeting Max Public School, also in Dwarka. Police teams at each location are actively engaged in detailed inspections and investigations as the search operations continue.
Delhi Police’s cyber cell has seized all threatening emails and launched a forensic probe to trace the attacker’s IP addresses and electronic footprints.
This latest spate of threats is part of a troubling pattern that has gripped Delhi’s educational institutions over recent weeks. Earlier this week, over 30 private schools, including the well-known DPS Dwarka, received similar hoax bomb threat emails. Although these had been declared false alarms after thorough checks, the incidents have caused widespread fear and disruption.
Authorities emphasize that all threats are being taken with utmost gravity, enforcing heightened security protocols across schools citywide. The psychological impact on students, parents, and educators has been significant, with some schools opting for temporary closures or shifting classes online to ensure safety.
As Delhi grapples with these recurring menace episodes, police and security agencies remain vigilant, intensifying efforts to unmask those behind the alarming hoax bomb threats.
