Pune, 19 Aug (HS): The Disaster Management Wing of
the Pune Municipal Corporation has formed 30 teams to act swiftly, following a
Red Alert issued by the Meteorological Department for the city.
Two teams, each in 15 regional offices have been
alerted. So far, only a few reports of trees falling on roads and flooding of
roads were received, and the problems were resolved immediately.
The municipal authorities have appealed to the
people to refrain from moving out without any essential work and remain alert in
case water gushes into any residential areas. Water from many dams is being
released into rivers, which may cause flooding in the residential areas.
