Amravati, 19 Aug (HS): Another youth was killed by a

tiger in Amravati’s Melghat region on Tuesday morning. The second youth who was

with him is missing. During the last five months, four people died in tiger

attacks in the region. The tribals in the region are mostly dependent on the

forest produce to earn their livelihood.

The people who had gone to the jungle in the morning

saw a tiger attacking two youths, one of whom survived the attack and fled from

the scene. One, however, died in the attack. Growing man-animal conflict in the

region has resulted in fear among the villagers.

On getting the information Rescue Team of the Tiger

Project and police personnel rushed to the spot. Trap cages and cameras are

being installed in the area. People have been advised to be careful while

moving in the region.
