Bongaigaon (Assam), 19 August (HS): A tragic road accident took place in Jogighopa, Bongaigaon on Tuesday, in which a two-year-old child lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Amin, son of Mannaf Ali. The incident occurred when the child was playing on the village road in front of his house. A Tata four-wheeler (AS-25IC-5960) hit the child, leaving him critically injured.

Local residents rushed the boy to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the vehicle fled from the spot, but police later seized it. Further investigation is underway.
