Tamulpur (Assam), 19 August (HS): A total of 414 youths were given appointment letters in the Forest Department during a special program organized at Srimanta Sankardev Public Auditorium, Tamulpur, on Tuesday by the BTC government. The appointments include 84 Forest Officers and 330 Forest Guards.

BTC Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, who distributed the appointment letters, addressed the newly appointed youths and said, “From today, you all have become government servants. You must fulfill your responsibilities in the Forest Department with honesty and dedication. Your duty is unique compared to other jobs.”

He emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, adding, “Protecting nature is everyone’s responsibility. Trees and animals understand human love if we truly care for them. Cutting trees in the name of development has caused ecological imbalance. We must protect biodiversity by saving trees. Human-elephant conflict also arises because we have built houses on their pathways. Coexistence with wildlife is the only solution.”

Tamulpur MLA Jolen Daimary also addressed the gathering, congratulating the appointees and urging them to serve with sincerity.

Pramod Boro attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also graced by Barama MLA Bhupen Boro, BTC Executive Member Dhananjay Basumatary, nominated Councillor Hemanta Kumar Rabha, Forest Department Divisional Officer Suman Mahapatra, Manas National Park Director Dr. C Ramesh, former MLA Chandi Basumatary and former BTC Executive Member Rabindrabala Biswas, among others.
