Lucknow, 12 August

(H.S.): On the second day of the monsoon session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative

Assembly, the main opposition party Samajwadi Party surrounded the government

over the incident related to the tomb in Fatehpur. As soon as the question hour

ended, the Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey raised this issue. SP

members came to the well and started raising anti-government slogans. The

government said that action is being taken against the culprits. The opposition

did not agree and the SP members kept raising slogans in the well. The Speaker

of the Legislative Assembly finally had to adjourn the Legislative Assembly

today as well.

This is the second

consecutive day when the proceedings of the House have been disrupted by

uproar. The government clarified in the House regarding the Fatehpur incident

that an FIR has been registered in this matter. The culprits will be identified

and strict action will be taken. Still the uproar of the opposition continued.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Excise Minister Nitin Agarwal and

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh have accused the opposition of

deliberately spreading anarchy and taking political advantage.

Suresh Khanna said-

action will be taken as per law: Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister

Suresh Khanna, while talking to journalists, said that the Leader of Opposition

raised the Fatehpur incident, on which he gave a detailed reply at that time.

“FIR has been registered under crime number 319. A report has been filed

against 10 named and 150 unknown people. The sections under which the case has

been filed are serious and after investigation, the culprits will be punished.

Pappu Chauhan's name has come up, who has been expelled from the Samajwadi

Party. This is their method. First get involved in the incident, then spoil the

atmosphere on the road and in the House. He said that the short session was for

historical works but the opposition did not let the session run on both days.

Zero tolerance

government, culprits will not be spared: Nitin Agarwal - Excise Minister Nitin

Agarwal said that the Parliamentary Affairs Minister has given a clear answer

to the question of the Leader of the Opposition. The government is keeping an

eye on the matter. FIR has been registered against all the culprits.

Investigation is going on and strict action will be taken against whoever is

found guilty. This government works on zero tolerance whether it is corruption

or law and order matter. No one will be allowed to spoil the atmosphere in

Uttar Pradesh.

Dayashankar Singh said,

the opposition is issueless: Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that on

the issue on which the opposition created a ruckus, a case has already been

registered and action is underway. The opposition has neither any issue nor any

vision. These people contest elections and run the government on the basis of

hooliganism. That is why they do not trust democracy. In the Fatehpur case,

whether the culprit is a SP worker or someone else, action is certain. All

three ministers said in one voice that the government will move ahead as per

the law and no one will be allowed to spoil the political or communal

atmosphere. The opposition should have calmed down after the facts but they

disrupted the public's work by creating disturbances.
