Lucknow, 12 August
(H.S.): On the second day of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh
Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party members raised the issue of
law and order in the Legislative Council. Leader of the House Keshav Prasad
Maurya responded to this. Not satisfied with the answer, SP members walked out
of the House. Responding to the questions of the opposition, Deputy Chief
Minister of the state Keshav Prasad Maurya said that ever since the BJP
government has been formed in Uttar Pradesh, the public has heaved a sigh of
relief. Before 2017, criminals and mafias were dominant in Uttar Pradesh.
Action was not taken against criminals during the rule of SP. Currently, the
law and order of the state is well. If a crime occurs, action is also taken
against it. When the issue of law and order was raised by SP in the Legislative
Council, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that earlier criminals
used to get political protection. Criminals had access to even the Chief
Minister's residence. There was an atmosphere of fear in UP during the SP
regime. Before the 2017 elections, the Samajwadi Party had reached the skies of
arrogance. The public felt that if the SP government comes, the same situation
will arise again. SP's wishes are not going to be fulfilled. SP is a sinking
boat. Whatever happened in 2017 will happen in 2027. SP did the work of
bringing the corrupt and criminals forward in politics. During the SP regime,
no festival was celebrated safely. The wind of fraud has gone out. Lotus has
bloomed in Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi. In 2027, the BJP government will be
formed again for the upliftment of the poor.
Earlier, the Leader of
Opposition Lal Bihari Yadav said that in UP, the protectors have become
predators. The graph of crime in UP is ahead of other states. Incidents of
women harassment have increased in Uttar Pradesh. Women are not safe. The state
capital Lucknow is witnessing the highest number of criminal incidents. Where
is the zero tolerance policy? On paper, the law and order situation in UP is
good. Police stations and tehsils have become centres of corruption.
Member Kiranpal Kashyap
said that the officers are unbridled. Law and order has failed. The poor are
encroaching upon their lands. Tubewell cables and transformers are being stolen
in western Uttar Pradesh. The rights of OBCs are being violated in the state.
The state government is sleeping and the entire administration is involved in
corruption.
Member Mukul Yadav said
that law and order has collapsed in UP. Criminal incidents are increasing day
by day. Every day 10 murders and nine rape incidents are happening. Uttar
Pradesh ranks first in atrocities on Dalits, custodial murders, and domestic
violence. Law and order is turning into jungle raj.
